Modelling nonlinear regenerative effects in metal cutting
This paper deals with the nonlinear models of regenerative chatter on machine tools. The limitations and actual problems of the existing theory are summarized. These cause difficulties in industrial applications, like in the design of optimum technological parameters, adaptive control and/or vibration-suppression strategies. An industrial machine-tool vibration case is analysed experimentally a...
متن کاملChaotic vibrations in a regenerative cutting process
We have analyzed vibrations generated in an orthogonal cutting process. Using a simple one degree of freedom model of the regenerative cutting we have observed the complex behaviour of the system. In presence of a shaped cutting surface, the nonlinear interaction between the tool and a workpiece leads the to chatter vibrations of periodic, quasi-periodic or chaotic type depending on system para...
متن کاملTheoretical Approximation of the Vibration in a Regenerative Cutting Process
ABSTRACT In this paper, the phenomenon of chatter vibration in metal cutting is investigated. For this purpose, a theoretical one-degree of freedom model of the vibrations generated in an orthogonal cutting process is developed. The dynamic cutting forces are strongly affected by the variations of the cutting process parameters, and the model is based on the mechanical theoretical prediction of...
متن کاملNonlinear Effects In Site Blocking Induced Oscillations
Higher order nonlinear effects of site blocking, which induces oscillations in the Monte Carlo simulation of CO oxidation, are outlined here. It is shown that the rate equations which include these effects exhibit a supercritical Hopf bifurcation in parameter domains where Monte Carlo simulations lead to oscillations. متن کاملpatterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment
although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...
